What Is GAIA?
GAIA is EC.DATA's artificial intelligence module — a system designed not just to monitor energy, but to understand it, predict it, and ultimately optimize it autonomously. The name reflects our ambition: energy management systems should be as natural and self-regulating as the planet's own systems.
How GAIA Works
GAIA is trained on the operational data of every EC.DATA-connected facility. Over time, it builds deep understanding of how individual buildings, equipment types, and operational patterns behave under different conditions.
This understanding enables several capabilities:
**Anomaly Detection** — GAIA identifies deviations from expected behavior with far greater precision than threshold-based alerting. It learns normal patterns specific to each facility and flags genuinely unusual events.
**Predictive Maintenance** — By learning equipment energy signatures, GAIA can identify developing mechanical problems weeks before they produce visible symptoms or generate maintenance alerts.
**Demand Forecasting** — GAIA predicts building energy demand based on weather, occupancy, production schedules, and historical patterns — enabling proactive load management.
**Optimization Recommendations** — GAIA generates specific, actionable recommendations for reducing energy consumption and costs based on facility-specific data rather than generic best practices.
