Data Center Energy Monitoring — PUE Optimization
Monitor PUE, cooling efficiency, UPS performance, and IT load in real time. Track data center energy KPIs against ASHRAE A2 and Green Grid benchmarks.
Data Center KPIs
- Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) — real-time and annualized
- Cooling efficiency: kW of cooling per kW of IT load
- UPS efficiency and battery health monitoring
- IT load per rack, row, and hall
- Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) for water-cooled facilities
- Carbon Usage Effectiveness (CUE) for sustainability reporting
- Benchmarking against ASHRAE A2 and Green Grid standards
PUE, WUE, and CUE for the way data centres actually run
Data-centre energy management is deceptively simple — PUE equals total energy over IT-load energy — and mercilessly unforgiving in practice. To compute it in real time you need sub-metering on every UPS output, every CRAH, every chilled-water plant, and every switchboard, all synchronised to the millisecond. That is what the Data Center module delivers.
The same telemetry produces Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) for evaporative-cooled sites and Carbon Usage Effectiveness (CUE) using hourly grid-carbon intensity. Sustainability teams can prove green-tariff accounting in a way that stands up to scrutiny from lenders and investors.
Operationally, the module adds thermal-imaging overlays of hot aisles, CRAC fan-speed analytics, free-cooling opportunity windows, and UPS battery-state monitoring. Capacity planners can see exactly when each hall will hit its thermal and power limits, rather than finding out at 02:00 on the night of a new rack move.
