How to read these terms in practice

The Terms of Service govern how customers and partners use the EC.DATA platform. They cover account creation, acceptable use, the licence we grant for use of the software, the security and uptime commitments we make, the data ownership boundaries between EC.DATA and the customer, the limitations of liability, indemnification, and the procedures for termination and dispute resolution. Because EC.DATA is a B2B platform, the terms are written for procurement and legal teams and may be supplemented by an executed Master Services Agreement that takes precedence in any conflict.

EC.DATA processes operational telemetry on the customer's behalf and acts as a data processor for any personal data routed through the platform. The Terms describe the customer's responsibility to maintain accurate user lists, control access through role-based permissions, and comply with applicable data-protection laws in the customer's own jurisdiction. EC.DATA's commitments around security, breach notification, sub-processor management, and data deletion on termination are stated in the security and privacy schedules referenced from these terms.

Service availability targets, planned maintenance windows, support response times, and procedures for raising and resolving incidents are described in the SLA referenced from this document. Material updates to the Terms will be communicated to the primary account contact at least thirty days before they take effect, with the prior version preserved in the platform document library so customers can compare changes.
